For this video project, I created a parody movie trailer based on the “Edward Scissorhands” movie trailer. This story is meant to be a comedy but there are similarities to the original movie trailer. Much like the movie, Edward is living alone and he has different hands from everyone else. However, in my version he has corn dog hands instead of scissorhands. He doesn’t normally leave the house but a woman invites him to come live with her family. He goes to live with the family and integrates well with them and friendships are made. In the end, Edward finds happiness in his new life.

“A Day at the Beach”
I used a combination of video and vector art I created to make an animation. With summer in full swing upon us, I created “A Day at the Beach” which represents some of the things we run into as we are sitting on the beach for an entire day or the different experiences we may have in multiple visits to the same place. I live within an hour of the beach and visit many times throughout the year and each visit creates its own unique experience.

During this soundwalk, I wanted to capture my personal experience as well as my thoughts during a walk of the wetlands off of the Texas coast. I love the outdoors and love the sound of nature. I also love the beach and spend a lot of time at it during the summer but I usually don’t walk the nature trails into the wetlands or marsh and I had never walked this nature trail before.

The concept behind my science fiction image is a hostile creature takeover of Houston, Texas. Humans have fled the area and only dragon-like creatures remain. Low on resources, the creatures have begun to cannibalize each other. I used 3 of my own images and 3 source images from the internet to create the scene. I wanted the sky to have a portal-type appearance for creature transport and the entire scene to have a surreal effect.

Here’s a birthday card I made. It usually goes without saying, but I think a card is a great way to express to a friend how important they are. It takes just a little more effort to buy a card or make one rather than just sending a text but that small effort goes a long way.
